About ACT4JJ

What is ACT4JJ?

Act 4 Juvenile Justice (ACT4JJ) is a campaign of the National Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Coalition (NJJDPC), which represents more than 180 national organizations who work on youth development and juvenile justice issues. ACT4JJ is composed of juvenile justice, child welfare and youth development organizations advocating for the reauthorization of the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act (JJDPA) and increased federal funding for juvenile justice programs and services.

Organizations that participate in ACT4JJ meet monthly throughout the year. ACT4JJ organizes action days and weeks, letter writing campaigns, and visits with Members of Congress. We serve as a resource to practioners in the field and Members of Congress and their staff on issues pertaining to the JJDPA and federal funding for juvenile justice programs.

ACT4JJ is currently co-chaired by Naomi Smoot, Executive Director of the Coalition for Juvenile Justice and Lisette Burton, Chief Policy and Practice Advisory at the Association of Children's Residential & Community.
